Jon Jones will defend the title at UFC 145 against Rashad Evans (if he beats Phil Davis at UFC on FOX 2) or Dan Henderson. mma.sbnation.com/2012/1/28/2755400/jon-jones-defend-light-heavyweight-title-ufc-145-vs-rashad-evans-dan-henderson"Fans in Atlanta have been tweeting me and telling me over and over again to bring the UFC back to their city," UFC President Dana White said. "Well guess what Atlanta? The UFC is coming back to Atlanta with the sport's fastest-rising star, Jon Jones, defending his light heavyweight title!"
An opponent for Jones has yet to be confirmed, however White recently clarified the title picture on Fuel TV's UFC Tonight.
"If Rashad Evans wins (against Phil Davis), and if he doesn't get injured, he will fight Jon Jones," White declared. "He's the guy who gets the shot. He's been waiting a long time, and he's the one who deserves it."
Conversely, if Evans loses or suffers an injury in victory, former Strikeforce and Pride champion Dan Henderson is set to receive the headlining spot opposite Jones. Henderson recently defeated former UFC champion Shogun Rua at UFC 139, in a gutsy contest that many have called one of the greatest fights in UFC history.

Can't wait for the main event, the rest of the card isn't all that exciting for me. Hominick I hope doesn't look as silly as he has in his last two ppv's. We'll see. Rashad may be the guy to beat Jones. Will be interesting to see if he can really take Bones down. If not he will be the victim of another clinic. After Rashad there is no one who has even the slightest chance of removing the strap from Jones.

Jones all the way. I know the whole "this guy beat this guy so he can be this other guy" is never really a good indicator, but Jones absolutely destroyed Machida, as Machida completely wrecked Evans. I think Jones is wildly underrated and Evans is about to find out how much.
